When you grow up 20 minutes south of wine country, developing an early taste for grapes is expected. With my father as my guide, I learned that wine taste is very personal and something worth discovering for yourself. After lots of trial and error and finally narrowing down what my palette enjoys, I also discovered the thrill of finding the perfect budget wine. Good wine isn’t necessarily expensive, and inexpensive wine isn’t necessarily bad.

I’ve compiled a list of very budget-friendly and summer-ready white and rosé wines for you. Everything here is delicious, perfect for parties and gifts, or a solo night in. Best of all, none of the bottles is over $20!

I will admit I am a full-blown beauty junkie. I love trying out all kinds of products and playing with different looks. I’m also very lucky to work in the beauty industry, where playing with and changing up your look is always encouraged! However, no matter how much fun I’m having playing around with my item of the week, I will always return to my must-have products. And guess what? Most of them come from my local CVS or Walgreens! Don’t get me wrong: I love pillaging Sephora like the next gal, but there’s nothing like a great, reliable product that is easily accessible while also being easy on your wallet.

Perfect skin. Everyone wants it. Celebrities seem to have it nailed, but let’s be real: single girls like us don’t necessarily have the money to blow at a dermatologist’s office every month, or even on high-end skincare lines! As a pre-teen and teenager, I battled acne while having super dry and sensitive skin. I’ve burned through it all: Proactiv, antibiotics, birth control pills, fancy moisturizers, and almost every drugstore brand. After a lot of TLC, trial and error, multiple prescriptions (sorry, Mom!), and doctor’s visits, here are a few of my favorite budget-friendly and easy-to-find products to get you on your way to flawless, glowing skin!

Welcome back to What I Love About My City—a series in which our favorite single girls dish on everything from the best places for a single girls weekend to the secret spots only the locals know about. If you’re thinking about moving or just planning your next trip, we’ll fill you in with all the essential details on the cities our crew knows best.

Originally from San Rafael, California, Sarah Walsh is a hair, makeup and food enthusiast living in New Orleans and loving every second. I had the pleasure of meeting Sarah in high school in San Francisco. She was a swimmer. I was a dancer. What has kept us connected since 2005 despite never being in the same city since (and aside from the outbreak of social media in our generation) is our obsession with and absurd ability to quote the TV show FRIENDS. A natural long-distance friendship was inevitable. I have yet to meet someone my age who, like Sarah, is so connected to a new city and feels indubitably that it has been and always will be the place she calls “home.” This is Sarah’s NOLA, and after hearing her vivacity in talking about this fair city, it is now on my shortlist of new places to visit.
