Toast of the Town | Sadie Lincoln

An interview with Sadie Lincoln | Founder of barre3

Why She's the Toast of the Town

Sadie Lincoln is an inspiration. I first met the founder of fitness franchise barre3 at the Create and Cultivate conference in LA. Her story was so powerful I had wished we’d had more time to spend together. Fortunately, this summer I had that chance when a weekend getaway brought me to Portland.

I met Sadie and her team at their community studio. There she shared more about the founding story of barre3, her aspirations as an entrepreneur, and her dreams for the future.

Sadie Lincoln is a renowned wellness expert, media personality, and founder of barre3. From her flagship studio in Portland, Oregon, Sadie has created a unique style of whole-health fitness classes combining the disciplines of ballet barre work, Pilates and yoga. Her modern approach offers serious results, accessible programs and inspiration for balanced living. Barre3’s worldwide franchise locations and Online Workouts have attracted A-list celebrities, major publications such as Self, Fitness and In Style and everyday moms – just like Sadie.

Sadie began teaching group exercise 20 years ago while attending UCLA. She was awarded a Graduate Assistantship from the College of William & Mary, where she developed and ran the group fitness program while earning her master’s degree in higher education administration.

Prior to branching out on her own, Sadie spent 10 years at 24 Hour Fitness serving in a variety of roles, including running the group exercise program and developing global sales, marketing and brand communications strategy. Working directly with the founder and CEO, she helped grow the company into the largest chain of health clubs worldwide.

Today, Sadie is thrilled to own her company while raising her two kids alongside her husband and business partner Chris. – http://barre3.com/sadie

An interview with Jessy Fofana |Founder |La Rue PR

Why She's the Toast of the Town

Jessy Fofana has the kind of story that entrepreneur dreams are made of. Her first company, Femme Arsenal, (yes, she’s had more than one) was born almost by accident. What started off as a fun hobby whipping up beauty products in her kitchen turned into Jessy’s first enterprise which she built and sold all by age 27. Coming off that success Jessy went on to found her second company, La Rue PR.

The La Rue website describes the company as a project “born out of Jessy’s love for finding emerging designers and amazing indie retailers to help them realize their full potential and achieve success. Together with her LaRue PR team, Jessy’s strategy is to bring attention to each client by targeting media in regional, national and international markets to create the kind of take-notice, multi-faceted publicity campaign that delivers brand-changing buzz and media exposure. From brand development and marketing to traditional and new media relations services, LaRue PR provides the skill and experience of a large agency with the creativity, singular attention and affordability that can only be offered by a boutique firm.” – (c/o http://www.laruepr.com/about.html)

In our interview together Jessy talks about the entrepreneurial journey she’s traveled. Watch now to learn her story and catch her advice for landing your own PR success.

Answers and advice from one woman entrepreneur to another

    Allison-Statter

Welcome to Mentor Sessions. This is your chance to get answers to all of those questions you know you want to ask, from one woman entrepreneur to another.  This week I’m featuring Allison Statter, the co-founder of Blended Strategy Group with Sherry Jhawar. Prior to launching BSG, Allison spent 16 years in the entertainment industry sharpening her executive acumen under the guidance of her father, music mogul Irving Azoff. Through her time working in entertainment and her family’s connections, Allison has built an intimate network of Hollywood’s who’s who. With Sherry, the former Global Head of Marketing at eos Products, Allison saw an opportunity to leverage her inside track to help broker deals between brands and influencers.

If there’s someone who understands influencer marketing -what makes it good, bad, and in the best cases incredibly powerful- it’s Allison. During our interview she shared her insight into what brands look for when choosing influencers to work with and offered up advice she’s learned in her first year of business. But don’t take it from me, check out our interview clips below to hear straight from Allison!

It’s also where I share insight into my own personal journey – what’s going well, what’s going not so well, and where I look for you to share your advice back with me. I hope you’ll pop on over, check it out, and even subscribe while you’re at it ; )

Why She's the Toast of the Town

Chances are you’ve never heard of Allison Statter or her business Blended Strategy Group and there’s a reason for that. Despite being BFFs to some of, correction, THE most, famous celebs, Allison has purposefully shied from the spotlight. She is a woman humble and gracious to her very core, qualities that make her not only irresistible but also an incredible entrepreneur.

Allison has spent the past 16 years building her career in the entertainment industry. When she met her business partner Sherry Jhawar, the former Global Head of Marketing for Eos Products, the two knew there was an opportunity for them to create something special. Together they founded Blended Strategy Group (BSG), a little known company that manages well know talent including the Kardashians & Jenners, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Chelsea Handler, Jon Bon Jovi, Gwen Stefani and Nicole Scherzinger.

Blended provides comprehensive commercial, marketing and branding consultation to its clients, which include high profile and high growth celebrities and brands. By circumventing typical talent agencies and corporate red tape to make direct connections between brand and talent management their clients benefit from a better strategic fit, cost savings and high touch service.

I was lucky enough to catch Allison at this year’s Create & Cultivate conference and find some time to ask her about her new endeavor. Watch our interview below to learn more about how she started her business and her best advice for starting your own!
