Start the year right with a month of fun and festivities!

Since college, I haven’t fully committed to volunteering with a single organization. These days, I find myself giving bits of my time whenever the right opportunity presents itself. Finding those opportunities however, seems to be the most challenging bit.
This year, I’ve found three websites which seem to offer a solution. These sites make it easier than ever to search, find, and get started with opportunities in your area. If you’re in the gift-giving spirit you’ll definitely want to check these out!
In this episode of Toast Meets Jam I caught up with Brittany Pierce, the host and executive producer behind the dance-centric travel series, Rhythm Abroad. We decided to meet at one of my favorite Brentwood spots, Coral Tree Cafe. While we drank in our lattes, Brittany shared the journey she’s been on from her first international trip to becoming the creator of her own travel series on PBS.
After graduating college, Brittany began her career as a reporter for Channel 4 San Diego. However, it wasn’t long before she was called to pursue her love for travel. When the opportunity to join another network as a travel host failed to present itself, she took matters into her own hands. Living by her motto to “lead by faith, not by sight” Brittany set out to create a show of her own.
While we dined our way through some amazing meals we had the pleasure of picking Andrea’s brain about the wines which were chosen to go with each dish. With her signature down-to-earth nature, she brought her expertise to us in a way which we could actually understand.
With Thanksgiving just a few days away, our time with Andrea couldn’t have been more perfectly timed. This year we’ve decided to open the doors to our new house and host a big Friendsgiving feast. We’ll be prepping the turkey and have asked each of our guest to bring along their favorite sides dishes. With an invite list of nearly 50, our meal is certain to have a lot of variety.
If you’ve ever been in a similar situation, you know that figuring out what drinks to serve to match your exhaustive menu can be quite the challenge. Luckily, Andrea’s expertise has prepped me with some easy to follow tips for pulling together the perfect wine pairings. If you’re looking for a simple guide to get your wine right, these points should suit you perfectly.
A few years ago a friend of mine introduced me to the concept of outsourcing your life. The basic idea is to find ways to avoid having to do the things you hate in order to have more time to do the things you love. I thought this idea was absolutely brilliant and really took it to heart. Fast forward a few years and I’ve found a solution to get me out of nearly errand I’d rather not have on my to-do list. If this sounds like a good idea to you, read on to find the simple swaps I recommend you give a try!
