Already available in New York. Los Angeles, Boston, and Chicago, ClassPass launched last week in Washington, D.C. ClassPass hit San Francisco by storm in August. In the land of the start-up, ClassPass had the city jumping at the chance to tour and support the boutique gyms and fitness studios that generally require dedicated membership at each respectively. Now we all had an excuse to check out a studio or a class that we had been meaning to. Hate the gym? Like to mix up your fitness routine? Shopping for a new studio to call home? ClassPass is for you. Read on for my experience on ClassPass and my visits to studios around the city.

Catherine shares her must-haves for fall

    fall wishlist

One of the worst things about being out of school (aside from bills and adult responsibilities) is the absence of back-to-school shopping. Who doesn’t love a new notebook and a fresh start? Though school’s been back in session for well over a month, I’m just now feeling summer drift into memory. With that, I also feel a little more motivation, a little more inspiration. Here are the things on my fall wish list to aid in tapping into that creativity.

My Day on a Juice Cleanse

Catherine shares her experience with a 1-day juice cleanse from Project Juice

I’m a craver… boba, pizza from Fresh Brothers, a caprese sandwich from Bay Cities, kale salad from Tender Greens. I like to indulge, so when I signed up for a juice cleanse I knew the challenge that was in store for me. I actually tried a 3-day juice cleanse when they first started popping up in L.A. some years ago but failed on Day 2 when I decided to have a hot dog at Abbot Kinney’s First Fridays. C’est la vie. This time around, only committing to 1 day seemed much less daunting.

Having learned from Project Juice that a successful cleanse begins with prep—slowly cutting out meat and only eating raw food the day before, I did my best to ease my intake a couple days before. I could’ve been better about it had I read their guide online, but 24 hours prior I ate a ThinkThin bar, grilled chicken and kale from Tender Greens, almonds, and a Trader Joe’s salad though I did impulsively splurge on sugar at lunch. Despite that little slip, I went to bed early to mentally prepare. Read on to see how I fared.

It’s that time of year again. The time when the days begin to grow noticeable shorter, the temperatures start to drop, and the scarves and books find their way to the front of your closet. Of course, this can also only mean one thing. It’s time to update your style to suit the season.

To be honest, I’m generally not a big shopper. When given the choice of what to do with my spare time, I typically opt to do something a bit more active like going for a long bike ride or hike with my girlfriends. This is partly driven by the awesome LA weather and largely driven by the anxiety that shopping brings. What style should I go for? Which items should I pick? Do I really have to spend that much??

That being said, I’ve hit the low point that I know you all have been at before. Standing in front of my closet has become depressing. Everything I see has been worn more than it’s fair share of times and I can honestly say  I have nothing to wear!

Luckily, I’ve found a great handful of shopping sites that solve all of my shopping woes. In this list you’ll find sites that hand-pick items to fit your style, look books to offer you outfit inspiration, and prices you won’t think twice about paying. Read on to see my favorite ways to shop on a budget!

A Healthy Recipe Packed with Great Fall Flavor and a Punch of Protein

    Pumpkin-Protein

It would be a gross understatement to say that I have begun to get into the swing of Fall. The only way to accurately describe my welcoming of this season is to say that I have contracted an obsession. Recently I came across a Buzzfeed article 25 Things All Basic White Girls Do During The Fall  and momentarily thought I was reading my Facebook newsfeed instead of a totally disassociated post. Pretty sure a #PSL was in my hand as I was scrolling down the list. Yes, it’s that bad.
